The California Bar Examiners have announced changes to the California Bar Exam that will take effect in July 2007. See below for a copy of the Committee of Bar Examiners' Memorandum:

Subject: Change in Scope of the California Bar Examination Effective with Administration of the July 2007 Examination

The Committee of Bar Examiners of The State Bar of California announces that effective with administration of the July 2007 California Bar Examination the scope of the California Bar Examination will change as follows:

  • The subject currently titled "Corporations" will be renamed "Business Associations" and the scope of the topics tested in Business Associations will include those topics currently tested in Corporations, partnerships of all forms, limited liability entities, related agency principles and uniform acts;
  • The scope of the subject titled "Civil Procedure" will include the California Code of Civil Procedure; and,
  • The scope of the subject titled "Evidence" will include the California Code of Evidence.
